<p>
It&#8217;s rare to catch an empty, silent plot of land on Mactan, but that&#8217;s what I found after my bike was fixed.  There&#8217;s almost always chattering or mooing or clucking coming from someone or some creature near by. </p>
<p>And to top it off, right above the road the moon was illuminating the field and the paths normally closeted by darkness.</p>

An atmospheric effect I had never seen before &#8211; this ain&#8217;t no lens flare (well at least the ring isn&#8217;t).  The moon was bright and full and had ginormous rings around it.  They were almost too big to capture with the camera, which made it a pretty spectacular view to just sit and behold. Anyone know what it&#8217;s called or what causes it?</p>
