It’s rare to catch an empty, silent plot of land on Mactan, but that’s what I found after my bike was fixed. There’s almost always chattering or mooing or clucking coming from someone or some creature near by.

And to top it off, right above the road the moon was illuminating the field and the paths normally closeted by darkness.

An atmospheric effect I had never seen before – this ain’t no lens flare (well at least the ring isn’t). The moon was bright and full and had ginormous rings around it. They were almost too big to capture with the camera, which made it a pretty spectacular view to just sit and behold. Anyone know what it’s called or what causes it?
