I enjoy fortune cookies for comedic value, especially when adding a key phrase on the end But this one, this one I can believe in.
As I was packing my stuff for the start of my great 2009 journey, I came across a shelf of old papers and IDs and letters, as well as this gem of a fortune. How fitting. I’ll take it!
Perhaps I was storing it for future use. The future meaning now.
Then again, I’ve also seen fortune cookies that seem to be the end of a cruel joke — tempting you with the thing you want the most and just laughing when you don’t get it.
I’ve found the best way to enjoy fortune cookies are to enjoy them when they’ve already come true. When they echo some even that has happened recently, or is currently happening. For now, I’ll continue believing in making my own fortune.
